There are times you just want to get out of Miami and experience an entirely different world. Even though Miami is surrounded on three sides by water (if you count the Everglades), there are still plenty of fun places to visit on a day trip.
You can step into history and experience a more rural life in Homestead, explore the Everglades, shop on a major scale at Sawgrass Mills Mall in Sunrise or hang out with the rich and famous in Palm Beach. You can even go on safari, or what passes for a safari in Palm Beach County.
We shared seven of our favorite day trips from Miami with our friends at CubeSmart.
As CubeSmart’s City Guide Expert for Miami, I’ll be sharing insights on Miami from the perspective of a South Florida local. Each month, I’ll share a new article aimed at introducing newcomers to Miami, that special place we all call home. If you’ve got ideas for what to tell newcomers, email me at email@example.com.
Disclosure: I’ve partnered with CubeSmart as the company’s local expert in Miami. Articles are written by me and are my opinion.
