Jungle Island wants you and the kids to make like a turtle and “Stay in Your Shell.”
To that effect, Miami’s eco-adventure park and events destination will offer free online assignments that allow children to learn about animals, nature and the Everglades from home. The lessons are designed for age 5-12.
Each assignment promises to be full of surprises, according to Emma Guss, Jungle Island’s education manager.
“While schools are closed and kids are bored and stuck at home, we decided to bring some of Jungle Island’s fine-feathered, scaly and cuddly friends directly to the computers of our young fans,” said Guss in a statement. “Each assignment … is designed to keep kids busy for hours, while they discover fun facts about animals, protected national parks, and the crucial role they can play in conserving wildlife and endangered species.”
How to participate: Go to Jungle Island’s Facebook or Instagram pages at 11 a.m. Mondays-Fridays and look up the lesson of the day.
