Gloria Estefan once said “the rhythm is gonna get you,” and that’s exactly what we expect to happen at Global Cuba Fest 2022!
Presented by FUNDarte and the Miami Light Project, the 15th edition of this popular two-day festival in March will feature musicians from Cuba and the Cuban Diaspora.
Global Cuba Fest has been scheduled for 8 p.m. March 5 and March 12.
On March 5 at the North Beach Bandshell, 7275 Collins Ave., expect to shimmy and shake during opening night with performances by Alfredo Rodríguez and friends Richard Bona, Tony Succar, and Pedrito Martínez, Munir Hossn, Michael Olivera, Gilmar Gomes and Jorge Glem. Here’s hoping for an exciting night of dancing by the ocean.
Though admission tickets are a bit pricey, there is a $5 discount if you make your purchase ahead of time. Tickets cost $35 in advance and $40 at the door. If you’re a student, senior or a Miami Beach resident, you’ll also be able to enjoy a nice $5 discount on tickets!
For closing night on March 12, there’s an equally impressive lineup planned, including Jorge Luis Pacheco with special guest star Daymé Arocena in collaboration with Ramses Rodriguez (drums) Yorgis Goiricelaya (bass) and Otto Santana (percussion); as well as Carlos Averhoff Jr. with Latin jazz legends Harold López-Nussa, Brian Lynch, Nestor Torres, Maggie Marquez and Ahmed Barroso.
Closing night is taking place at the Miami-Dade County Auditorium, 2901 W. Flagler St.
The Global Cuba Fest performance series will have you on your feet so wear those dancing shoes you’ve been saving for the perfect occasion!
