March is Florida Archeology Month. In celebration, the Miami-Dade County Parks will host the inaugural “Meet Me at the Bridge” event on March 25 from 10 am-4 pm at Arch Creek Park.
Be part of this living history experience that allows visitors to see how the area’s first settlers enjoyed picnicking at the “historic limestone bridge” and exploring the many wonders of the park.
The family-style festivities will include trail walks, pioneer stories and games for children, archery, pottery-making, archaeological site walks and live folk music. Admission is free. Hot dogs, lemonade and other snacks will be available for purchase.
This activity is being presented by Miami-Dade Parks’ Miami EcoAdventures™ in partnership with Arch Creek Trust and Florida Public Archaeology Network – Southeast Region.
