The Department of English and Foreign Languages in the College of Arts and Sciences at Barry University is presenting the free film series “Cuba: So Close, Yet So Far” – a series of film screenings and panel discussions about the Pedro Pan generation, important moments in Cuban history, and contemporary life on the island. The films screen at 6:30 p.m. and the series runs through April 17. Films are presented in Spanish with English subtitles. All films are followed by a Q&A session.

- April 17: “Horizons” (Horizontes) directed by Eileen Hofer follows the career of two classical dancers from the National Ballet of Cuba to tell the story of the company’s founder Alicia Alonso.
