The Club of Knights presents its 3rd Annual Gables Chili Fest & Caja China Competition to benefit South Florida veterans from noon to 8 pm on Jan. 14 at 270 Catalonia Avenue (between Salcedo and Ponce).
Among the groups now lining up to compete in the Cook-Off and demonstrate who makes the best chili in the community are Firefighters, Police and others.
Attendees will enjoy an event for the entire family–from the sweet smells in the air of chili being cooked by contestants, to the live music performances by top entertainers, among them Tony Succar and the Mixtura Jay Valor, Cache and DJ music.
As an event to benefit veterans, this year’s Chili Festival will feature an entire section devoted to all the branches of the U.S. Armed Forces. They will each have tents set up inviting any spectator (newcomers and veterans alike) to a friendly fitness competition such as who can do the max pull-ups, pushups, sit-ups, etc.
The event is free, but you can also buy food tickets online ($10-$20). Click here.
