Free ‘All Kids Included Family Festival’ in South Dade

The annual All Kids Included (AKI) Family Arts Festival returns for its 18th year and happening Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Dennis C. Moss Cultural Arts Center, 10950 SW 211 St, Cutler Bay.

The AKI Festival is a free innovative, multidisciplinary community arts festival for children and families with and without disabilities. This festival features a district-wide student art competition art show and awards ceremony, live performances and community resources for caregivers.

The event is designed to be accessible, utilizing access technology and offering accommodations such as ASL interpretation, assistive listening, noise cancelling headsets, Open Captions, large print, Braille, Audio Description, Sensory-Inclusive programs, and a quiet room.

AKI is co-presented by Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs with support from The Children’s Trust.

Schedule of Events from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.:
 
Lab Theater
  • 10:10–10:40 a.m.: South Florida Ballet performance 
  • 11:55 a.m. to 12:40 p.m.: Moving Music Museum
  • 12:50-1:20 p.m.: John Paul Jebian ASL Storytelling
  • 1:30-2:15 p.m.: Moving Music Museum
  •  2:25- 2:55 p.m.: John Paul Jebian ASL Storytelling
 
Dance Rehearsal Studio
  • 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Community Resource Partners  
 
Classroom
  • 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Art Exhibition & Community Resource Partners
 
Main Stage
  • 10:15-10:45 a.m.: District Wide Student Art Contest Award Ceremony
  • 11 a.m. to noon: ILL-ABILITIES (Sensory Inclusive Performance*)
  • 1-1:30 p.m.: Greater Miami Youth Symphony performance 
  • 2-3:00 p.m.: ILL-ABILITIES (Sensory Inclusive Performance*)
 
*As part of the Sensory Inclusive performances, slight adjustments have been made including reduced sound levels, no flashing or strobe lights and minimal special effects. A Quiet Room staffed by the Advocacy Network on Disabilities is available to provide audience support. 
 
Plaza Stage
DJ Sets by DJ Zelda all day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and performances by the following groups:
  • 10:30-11 a.m.: Miami Lighthouse Youth Music Program
  • 11:30 a.m. to noon: South Florida Center for Percussive Arts 
  • 12:30-1:15 p.m.: African Watoto
  • 1:15-1:45 p.m.: Community Arts Program 
  • 2-2:45 p.m.: African Watoto 
Black Box
All Day – Jen Clay’s Eyes of the Skin – A mental health inspired artistic video game & installation 
 
Backyard Lawn

  • Rock Climbing Wall
  • Obstacle Course Inflatable
