Tradewinds Park offers rides on model train

For a fun, unique and inexpensive activity in north Broward, hop aboard a little railroad.  The teeny train runs on tracks around a pond at Tradewinds Park in Coconut Creek.

Train rides offered third weekends

Functioning model locomotives offer rides 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. the third full weekend of each month, weather permitting. It's a good idea to phone to verify the trains are running the day you want to go.

Tradewinds & Atlantic Railroad runs the trains, which can be ridden by both kids and adults.

Fees are $2 for train rides. Weekend entry fees for Tradewinds Park are $3 per vehicle for up to 8 people and $20 per vehicle for at least 9 people.

Tradewinds Park is at 3600 W. Sample Road, Coconut Creek.

For information, phone the park at 954-357-8870 or 954-494-6877 for the train rides.
