Halloween event at Hollywood Historical Society

Trick or Treating. Pumpkins. Hayrides. Lots of parks, shopping plazas and farms in Broward are offering fall festivities and Halloween fun.

Many events are free, though some charge for activities. You will find fall festivals, Oktoberfest events, Halloween parties and more from Coral Springs to Hallandale Beach, from Pompano Beach to Miramar, through Hollywood, Pembroke Pines, Fort Lauderdale, Sunrise and all the cities of Broward County.

We have found Halloween events for kids and for adults, plus many Halloween festivities the entire family can enjoy together. 

We have also listed South Florida's major haunted house attractions, even though most are not free or cheap. We have found discounts for some of your favorites.

Here are some of the best free and inexpensive Halloween events in 2024 in Broward.

Bow Wow Ween

Bow Wow Ween is  9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Saturday, October 5 at the dog park, 9751 Johnson Street, Pembroke Pines.

The event includes games and pet vendors. Entry is free and parking is free.

Howl-o-Ween events for dogs & people

Howl-o-Ween is 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Saturday, October 12 hosted by Hollywood branch library, 2600 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood 33020.  The venue is outside at the Old Library Building Field.

The event features a costume contest for dogs. Entry and parking are free for participants and spectators.

Dress up for a Halloween party 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. Sunday, October 13 at Stirling Road branch library, 3151 Stirling Road, Hollywood 33312. The event is free.

Music, prizes, food and drinks are part of the festivities.

Halloween Hoopla, Tamarac

Halloween Hoopla is 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. October 18 at Tamarac Park, 7501 N. University Drive. Entry is free. The first 500 kids receive free treats.  The event includes entertainment, bounce houses and games.

Face painting is included in the festivities.

Halloween film ‘Hocus Pocus' in Deerfield

Tote along your portable seats for a free outdoor Halloween flick.  “Hocus Pocus” is featured 7 p.m. Friday, October 18   at Villages of Hillsboro Park, 4111 NW Sixth Street, Deerfield Beach.

Halloween movie in Wilton Manors

The film “Five Nights at Freddy's” is featured outdoors 7 p.m. Friday, October 18 with activities at 5:30 p.m., and entry is free. Bring seats or blankets. The event is at Mikel Park, 2675 NW 7th Ave.,
Wilton Manors 33305.

Trunk or Treat in Fort Lauderdale

Trunk or treat, bounce houses and games are included at a Halloween event 5 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Saturday, October 19 in Fort Lauderdale and entry is free.

The event is at Christ Church Field, 4845 NE 25th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale  33308.  Parking is free.

House of Poe's Horrors

The haunted house October 24-26 is described as immersive based on tales such as “The Pit and The Pendulum” and “The Oval Portrait.”

The venue is Pompano Beach Cultural Center, 50 W. Atlantic Boulevard, Pompano.

Tickets are $13 online.

Halloween Festival in Parkland

Parkland is throwing a Halloween festival 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Friday October 25 with trunk or treat, stilt walkers, and a DJ. The pumpkin patch offers pumpkins for sale.

The festival is at Pine Trails Park, 10561 Trails End, Parkland 33067

Boo Bash

Boo Bash is 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, October 25 with free entry. At 8 p.m. is a free movie.

The event includes at 7 p.m.  costume fashion show and food for purchase. 

ArtsPark is on Hollywood Boulevard and Federal Highway.

Halloween Bash in Oakland Park

Bounce houses and trunk or treat are included at Halloween Bash, 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. October 25 at Wimberly Field, 4000 NE Third Ave. Oakland Park. The event includes games, DJ entertainment and costume contest. Entry is free.

Parking with free shuttles

Halloween in Davie

Halloween Festivities in Davie are 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. October 26, at Bergeron Rodeo, 4201 Rodeo Way, Davie. Entry and parking are free.

Hollyweird

The event for adults  in Hollywood draws lots of  people including participants in elaborate outfits entering events that offer prizes totaling about $10,000.

Hollyweird on Hollywood Boulevard at 19th and 20th Avenues in downtown Hollywood is 9 p.m. Saturday, October 26 until 2 a.m., and entry is free. 

Fall Festival in Miramar

Fall Festival in Miramar includes trick or treating and other Halloween features. The festival includes pony rides, pumpkin patch, train rides, face painting and other features. 12 p.m. – 6 p.m. Saturday,  October 26 and entry is free. The venue is Silver Shores clubhouse, 15601 Silver Shores Boulevard 33027. Parking and shuttles are at Silver Shores Elementary School, 1701 SW 160th Avenue.

Feel free to dress in your favorite Halloween attire. The event includes a parade and costume contests.

Fall Festival in Margate

Fall Festival in Margate is 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. October 26 and entry is free. The event  includes pony rides, petting zoo, and haunted house.  Food and artisan vendors are featured. The venue is the sports facilities at 1695 Banks Road, Margate 33063.

Music of the Night

Performance is 5 p.m. October 27 at All Saints Episcopal Church, 954-467-6496, 333 Tarpon Drive, Fort Lauderdale. Donations are accepted, with a suggested donation of $20. The performance features

soloists and instrumentalists

Wicked Manors in Wilton Manors

The popular street festival for Halloween  is 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. October 31 on Wilton Drive. Tickets are $10 online.  At the event, tickets are $13. Parking is $20.

For youngsters and families, Trick-or-Treating is offered 5 p.m. – 6 p.m. on Wilton Drive at participating vendors,

Costume contests are featured for grownups.

Trunk or Treat & Halloween festivities

Plantation Parks and Recreation is featuring Trunk or Treat 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday, October 31 with free entry.

The event includes haunted selfie room, music, and treats.

It's at Pine Island Park, 320 S. Pine Island Road, Plantation 33324. Parking is free.

Dress up for a costume contest.

Halloween Spooktacular for Toddlers

The Toddler Halloween Spooktacular for ages 1 – 3 and parents is 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. October 31, and fees are $20 and $30.

The event is at the Coconut Creek recreation complex and registration is required.

Fees are $30 for non-residents and $20 for Coconut Creek residents.

Register online, at the recreation complex or at the community center, Community Center, 1100 Lyons Road.
