The Wolfsonian's Turn the Beat Around explores Afro-Cuban musical genres' lasting contributions to U.S. music and dance. Dig deeper into this topic at an FIU panel examining tourism and Hollywood,  the controversial salsa movement, and how Afro-Cuban rhythms fit within Miami's diverse musical cultures. This discussion will celebrate the origins, diffusion, and vibrancy of musical practices of African origin in both Cuba and the United States.
