Bass Museum is offering their online @BassCreativityCenter via Instagram with virtual lesson plans and video instruction on host of topics including the science and meaning behind color and different mediums of art.
Coral Gables Museum is offering daily arts and crafts activities kids can create from posted photos on the Facebook page using materials found at home.
Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden has launched a digital platform #MyFairchild on their website with horticulture-themed crafts for kids, behind-the-scenes tours with Fairchild’s horticulturists and a Space Chili Pepper Challenge with NASA.
Frost Science has developed an digital platform series Frost Science@Home that includes at-home family-friendly science activities, along with 360 degree exploration of the museum’s exhibits and Frost Science Live Stream.
Miami Beach Botanical Garden is hosting coloring contests and other fun activities for kids. Check out their newsletter for updates on what they’ve got coming up.
Miami Children’s Chorus is hosting a Miami Virtual Choir on Wednesdays for Miami-Dade County public school students from third to 12th grades. The Zoom rehearsals, done via the Zoom app are at 3:30 p.m. for elementary grades, 5 p.m. for middle school and 6:30 p.m. for high schoolers.
Miami Children’s Museum has a “Museum At Home” program that offers several components, including a theater troupe and educational art projects. Most of the programs are on the museum’s Facebook page or other social channels. There’s even a session with artist Romero Britto. Find that by clicking here.South Florida PBS has free educational resources for grades Pre-K through 12 on their 24/7 PBS Kids Channel and online. They’re featuring 100 virtual field trips with lesson plans and take-home pages as well as their educational show “Stargazers.”
Pelican Harbor Seabird Station is showcasing pelican releases on their Facebook page and has a downloadable 16-page coloring and activity book for kids called “The Misadventures of Penelope the Pelican.”
African Wildlife Safari Channel is streaming scenes video of native animals in the African safari on their website
Also on Facebook Live daily, but at 10 a.m., Atlantic White Shark Conservancy hosts a Shark Story Hour. During that time, they will read a different shark-themed book followed by a Q&A session on that book.
Audible Stories is offering free streaming of hundreds of stories including selections for toddlers including literary classics to tween, teen and young adult selections.
Five Below is a great place to shop online for cheap board games, sporting equipment, books, arts & crafts and puzzles. Enough to keep the kids busy and entertaining themselves with something other than electronics. They’re offering free shipping on orders of $35 or more.
Need to get the kids moving while staying indoors? GoNoodle offers a variety of movement and mindfulness videos created by child development experts. They focus on physical well-being, social and emotional health and education.
Kennedy Space Center is airing live educational workshops on rockets, space exploration, NASA, rocket launches and more. Catch a glimpse/mini-tour of the Center when viewing the videos. You can see them on their Facebook page.
Keeping stress and anxiety at bay can be difficult when cooped up at home. Yoga can be a great way to relax and, with Kids Yoga Videos, kids can work on their concentration, manage stress and increase their confidence.
Michael’s craft store is hosting a live family activity every Wednesday at noon via their Facebook page.
The kids will be excited to learn with Charlie Brown, Lucy and the rest of the Peanuts gang with free educational materials and lesson plans from Peanuts Worldwide. Science, math and language arts lessons are appropriate for kindergarten through eighth grade.

Storytime from Space features a variety of Science Time Videos, Story Time Videos and Books all about the space program and space engineering.
Cade at Home by Cade Museum has plenty of activities, crafts and songs for newborns (Cade Little Sparks) to kids 10 and older (Cade Tech & Design, Cade at Night).
Field trips are always an exciting time for students and now they can take virtual ones around the country and the world. With Virtual Field Trips, kids can visit the Boston Children’s Museum, The Great Wall of China and The Louvre, San Diego Zoo, Yellowstone National Park and even the surface of Mars!
