The Big Read 2020 is a yearly event by the National Endowment for the Arts aimed at broadening our understanding of our world, our communities and ourselves through books.
From March 1-31, free activities and presentations explore themes from a selected book. This year’s selection: Roz Chast’s memoir, “Can’t We Talk About Something More Pleasant?” In the 2014 graphic memoir, the American cartoonist tells about her parents in their final years.
Miami Book Fair and the Miami-Dade Public Library system are among the participants of the event. Free copies of the book may be provided to audiences attending events, Miami-Dade County Public Library reading discussion groups and Miami Dade College students – while supplies last.
