Winn-Dixie is hosting free Rosh Hashanah cooking demonstrations with a chance to sample some kosher foods.
Chef Doris, culinary designer and author, will demonstrate recipes that includes gefilte fish patties in tomato sauce and Israeli couscous with mushrooms.
In Miami-Dade, the demonstration will be 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29, at the Winn-Dixie in Aventura, 20417 Biscayne Blvd.
Winn-Dixie shoppers are invited to “Una tarde de té con Sissi” (An Afternoon of Tea With Sissi) featuring samples of teas from Tadin Herb and Tea Company, product tastings, entertainment and more
The event is in celebration of the grand reopening of select Miami stores featuring Latin celebrity and entertainer Sissi. Shoppers will have the opportunity to sample teas as well as enjoy wine and cheese samplings, a chocolate fountain with fresh fruit, entertainment and giveaways.
The event will take place 1-2 p.m. Saturday, March 13, at the Winn-Dixie store at 12254 SW Eighth St.
Winn-Dixie invites shoppers to experience “A Taste of the Holidays” at select Miami stores on Saturday. The free event includes wine and cheese sampling, a chocolate fountain with fresh fruit, live entertainment, giveaways, children’s activities and more.
Plus, Chef Pepin will provide a live, special cooking demonstration at several stores.

What does Mom really want for Mother’s Day? A night off, according to Maria Bailey, South Florida mom, author, radio host, CEO and organizer of the first National Mom’s Nite Out, which is Thursday, May 7.
The free National Mom’s Nite Out will unite more than 150 social media groups, companies, local playgroups, mommy bloggers and mother social networks in giving moms a night off.
In Miami-Dade, moms will meet up at from 6 to 9 p.m. at Dadeland Mall for cooking demonstrations, a style presentation, complimentary wine and cheese samples by Winn-Dixie and more. CBS 4 news anchor Shannon Hori, Chef Cindy Hutson and event designer and stylist Godfrey del Rio will participate.
