backtoschoolFlorida is offering its residents a weekend to shop for select apparel and  school supplies for children and adults without paying state sales tax.

The tax-free weekend is this weekend, Aug. 12-14.

To be exempt from taxes, the items must cost $75 or less for apparel and $15 or less for school supplies.

Tax-exempt products includes socks, pants, work clothes, scout uniforms,  shoes, school supplies, handbags, diaper bags and backpacks.

Miami-Dade Commissioner Audrey Edmonson is hosting the 4th annual District 3 Fun Day on Saturday, July 31, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Olinda Park in Miami.

There will be free food, music, games, raffles and prizes. Students in grades K-12 will receive a free book bag with school supplies on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

Olinda Park is located at 2101 NW 51 St.
