Celebrate Dr. Seuss’ 106th birthday with a free party from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, at the Miami Children’s Museum on Watson Island.
The event will include games, celebrity book readings, a scavenger hunt, face painting and a chance to meet some of the characters from Dr. Seuss’ books.

Richelle Mead, author of the best-selling Vampire Academy series, is bringing the Vampire Academy tour to South Florida, by popular demand of fans who voted on her website.
Mead will read from and sign Vampire Academy: Signature Edition (Penguin, $17.99), which includes a sneak preview of the first chapter of Book 5: Spirit Bound, due out in May.
