customerkittens2 Miami-Dade Animal Services provides discount spay and neuter surgeries for dogs and cats two days a week at the animal shelter. Pets older than four months need proof of rabies vaccine, or the county will administer the vaccine for $10. The service is for Miami-Dade residents only.

  • Cats: $15 spay and neuter for cats with check-in starting at 7:30 a.m. every Thursday and Friday.
  • Dogs: $30 spay and neuter for dogs with check-in starting at 7:30 a.m. every Tuesday and Wednesday.

The shelter also microchips pets for $10, no appointment necessary.

Take advantage of reduced fees on dogs and cats from December 15 -31 at the Home for Every Holiday Pet Adoption Event at the Animal Services Shelter located at 7401 NW 74 St., Miami, 33166.

Miami-Dade Animal Services, The Humane Society of Greater Miami and The Cat Network, Inc., together with other South Florida rescue groups invite residents to the 24 Hour Mega Pet Adoption Event on Saturday, October 27 at Tropical Park, 7900 SW 40 Street  Miami, 33156.

Pets’ Trust Miami Founder, Michael Rosenberg, is spending this weekend in a cage at Miami-Dade Animal Services on behalf of the Pets’ Trust ballot measure #240 to address the plight of overpopulated, abandoned and homeless pets. Animal Services will be reducing adoption fees to $25 on October 6 & 7.

Rosenberg will be surrendered (like thousands of unwanted pets each year) and housed in a concrete, chain-link cage for two nights, while Animal Services steps up adoption efforts with a weekend goal of finding “forever homes” for the nearly 600 abandoned pets currently in the shelter.

Caring About the Strays is hosting a Dog Days of Summer party on Saturday, August 25, from 3 p.m.-7 p.m., at Woody’s West End Tavern.

With your $10 donation, get a complimentary cocktail and assorted appetizers (Bring cash). Puppies and dogs will be available for adoption. The event will include pet fashions and a raffle. The Twisted Williee Band will provide the musical entertainment.

customerkittens2Miami-Dade Animal Services provides free spaying and neutering for cats starting at 8 a.m. every Thursday at the shelter, 7401 NW 74th St.

The service is for Miami-Dade residents only. Cats must be in carriers and must be at least 2 months old. Those over 4 months must have proof of current rabies vaccine (which the county administers for $10).

There is a limit of four cats per household, and cats should not have any food or water after 9 p.m. the night before. Feral cats will be ear tipped.

The shelter also microchips pets for $10, no appointment necessary.
