Residential High Efficiency Toilet Rebate

Miami-Dade County residents can replace older-model toilets with High-Efficiency models.

Single-family residential property owners or tenants, as well as multi-family property owners, may receive a $50 rebate with the purchase and installation of a WaterSense-certified High-Efficiency toilet.

The residential property must have been built prior to 1996. To quality for the rebate, you must submit the appropriate application form, the original purchase receipt and packaging information from the manufacturer showing that the toilet is WaterSense-certified. HistoryMiami: Free Art of Making a Guayabera Presentation

HistoryMiami museum is hosting a free event on the art of making a guayabera on Saturday, January 5 at 1 p.m.

The presentation led by Michael Knoll, curator of The Guayabera: A Shirt’s Story exhibition, features guest artisan Mariano Arce of Marce Shirtmaker who will demonstrate the intricate process of crafting the shirt.

King Mango Strut Parade in Coconut Grove

The free King Mango Strut Parade takes place on Sunday, December 30 at 2 p.m. in Downtown Coconut Grove. The off-beat parade pokes fun at everything and anyone.

The parade parodies international and local events in the last year and pushes the envelope of good taste, in all good fun.

Parade Route The strut route begins at the corner of Commodore Plaza and Main Highway. It turns left onto Main Highway and then turns left onto Grand Avenue at CocoWalk and turns left again at Commodore Plaza.

Parking (map) There is parking a block away from the parade route at the Municipal Garage at Oak Avenue and Mary Street, as well as CocoWalk, Mayfair, Coconut Grove Playhouse, St. Stephens Episcopal Church, and Coconut Grove Elementary School. Junior Orange Bowl Parade in Coral Gables

The free Junior Orange Bowl Parade will take place on Sunday, December 30 at 4 p.m. at City Hall/Merrick Park (405 Biltmore Way) .

Grand Marshall Ron Magill, from ZooMiami, leads local and national marching bands, including the Northern Illinois University Huskie Marching Band, show horses, youth groups, performers, and floats down historic Miracle Mile in downtown Coral Gables.
