UPDATE: The passes to the free screening in Aventura have all been distributed. We still have passes for a free screening in West Palm Beach.

We have some movie passes to give away that will give you free admission to an advance screening of “The Tourist,” a new thriller starring Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie.

The film will be shown at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, at the AMC Aventura, 19501 Biscayne Blvd., at the Aventura Mall. The film opens Friday, Dec. 10.

To get a pass for the free movie, email miami27@miamionthecheap.com and put “Free movie tickets Aventura” in the subject line. We have a very limited number of passes to distribute, and they’ll be given out on a first-come, first-served basis. Each pass admits two people. The passes will be sent via e-mail, and you’ll need to print them out.

An advance screening of the new film Stone, starring Robert De Niro, Edward Norton and Milla Jovovich, is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, at the AMC Aventura 24 in the Aventura Mall.

We’ve got free movie tickets.

If you want a pass for the screening, e-mail your postal address to info@floridaonthecheap.com by noon Sunday. The passes will be sent in the mail, and each pass admits two.

The film is rated R, which means no one under 17 can be admitted without a parent or guardian. You can read more about the film here.

LaFabri_k The Miami Light Project will present a free screening of the documentary film La Fabri-k, directed by Lisandro Perez-Rey, at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, at the Light Box at Goldman Warehouse, 404 NW 26 St., Miami. Fabri-K tells the story of a group of Cuban hip-hop musicians.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the director and with Yrak Saenz of the rap group Doble Filo. Following the Q&A, guests will get a sneak peak at Perez-Rey’s next film, Boomtown Fever.

cabinetofdrcaligari The Wolfsonian-FIU on Miami Beach will show a free silent film at 7 pm. Friday, Aug. 13. Entry to the Wolfsonian is always free 6 to 9 p.m. Fridays.

The film will be the 1920 German classic The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari.

The Dynamo Café will offer 2-for-1 beer and wine from 6-9 p.m. as part of the museum’s “Dyno’Nites” program, designed as a venue for the local community to share talent and knowledge.

movies The Coconut Grove Business Improvement District has a “stay-cation” deal that means free movie tickets for people who dine or shop in the Grove.

If you spend $50 at a participating restaurant or $25 at a participating store, you’ll get a voucher for two free tickets to the new new Paragon Grove 13 movie theater.

The deal is good while supplies last. Vouchers can be redeemed at the Paragon Grove 13’s Guest Services counter between noon and 11 p.m. Some restrictions apply, and the vouchers cannot be used the first 10 days of a new release.

disneyearth Miami City Commissioner Mark Sarnoff is presenting a free nature film at 6:30 p.m. Monday, July 19, at City Hall, 3500 Pan American Dr. in Coconut Grove.

The Disneynature film Earth is about three animal families on a journey across the planet: polar bears, elephants and humpback whales. This is free and open to the public.

Ron Magill from Zoo Miami will answer questions after the film.

Bay Harbor Islands is showing a series of free outdoor movies in the vacant lot at 1177 Kane Concourse. Bring your own blanket or chairs.

Children must be accompanied by an adult. Concessions will be sold by the Ruth K. Broad Bay Harbor K-8 Center Broadcasting Club.

image The Holocaust Memorial Committee will sponsor a free film, The Last Survivor, at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, at the Byron Carlyle Theatre, 500 71st St., Miami Beach.

The film, the winner of the Jackson Film Festival, presents four genocide survivors, people who lived through the Holocaust and massacres in Congo, Rwanda and Darfur. Filmmaker Michael Pertnoy will lead a discussion after the film.
