Snuggle up on the sands of Bal Harbour Beach free a free screening of The Amazing Spider-Man, that features free popcorn, plush couches, cozy pillows and ocean breezes. Free admission.

Headlining this al fresco affair is a slate of recent Hollywood hits, silver-screen classics and award- winning international features. Showtime is 8 p.m. on Saturday, November 24.

This week’s feature is The Amazing Spider-Man.  Peter Parket finds a clue that might help him understand why his parents disappeared when he was young.  His path puts him on a collision course with Dr. Curt Connors, his father’s former partner.

Public Parking will be available at the municipal lot beneath Halouver bridge or valet parking will be available at ONE Bal Harbour Resort & Spa.

On Thursday, August 9, at 9 p.m. at Exostage@SoundScape, the City of Miami Beach Arts in the Parks and The Metropolitan Opera will screen for free Richard Eyre’s hit production of one of the most popular operas of all time.

The film stars Elina Garanca in the title role of the seductive gypsy, opposite Roberto Alagna as Don José. In case of inclement weather, the film will be screened in the New World Symphony’s Main Hall (500 17 St.). No pets or picnics will be allowed indoors.

Harry Potter is being shown for free at some Best Buy stores.

The free outdoor movie events are about 9 p.m. Nov. 24 — Thanksgiving, with some activities at 8 p.m.

The participating Best Buy stores in South Florida include Davie, Pembroke Pines, Doral and West Kendall.

The film is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 2.

shrekforeverafter The University of Miami Screen on the Green will show two free movies Friday, Oct. 8, on the university green, 1300 Memorial Dr., Coral Gables.

The films will be  Shrek Forever After at 8 p.m. and Cop Out at 10 p.m., presented as part of ‘Canes Night Live.

Moviegoers are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs

Obscene: A Portrait of Barney Rosset and Grove Press The Wolfsonian-FIU museum will kick off Banned Books week with a free film at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, at the museum, 1001 Washington Ave., Miami Beach.

Obscene: A Portrait of Barney Rosset and Grove Press tells the story of Rossett, the first U.S. publisher of Samuel Beckett, Kenzaburo Oe, Tom Stoppard, Che Guevara and Malcolm X. He also battled the government over its obscenity ban on Lady Chatterley’s Lover, Tropic of Cancer and Naked Lunch. The 2010 film is not appropriate for children.

Admission to the Wolfsonian is always free on Fridays. As part of the museum’s Dyno-Nites program, the cafe will offer 2-for-1 beer and wine from 6 to 9 p.m.

LaFabri_k The Miami Light Project will present a free screening of the documentary film La Fabri-k, directed by Lisandro Perez-Rey, at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, at the Light Box at Goldman Warehouse, 404 NW 26 St., Miami. Fabri-K tells the story of a group of Cuban hip-hop musicians.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the director and with Yrak Saenz of the rap group Doble Filo. Following the Q&A, guests will get a sneak peak at Perez-Rey’s next film, Boomtown Fever.

The film will be the 1920 German classic The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari.

The Dynamo Café will offer 2-for-1 beer and wine from 6-9 p.m. as part of the museum’s “Dyno’Nites” program, designed as a venue for the local community to share talent and knowledge.

disneyearth Miami City Commissioner Mark Sarnoff is presenting a free nature film at 6:30 p.m. Monday, July 19, at City Hall, 3500 Pan American Dr. in Coconut Grove.

The Disneynature film Earth is about three animal families on a journey across the planet: polar bears, elephants and humpback whales. This is free and open to the public.

Ron Magill from Zoo Miami will answer questions after the film.

Bay Harbor Islands is showing a series of free outdoor movies in the vacant lot at 1177 Kane Concourse. Bring your own blanket or chairs.

Children must be accompanied by an adult. Concessions will be sold by the Ruth K. Broad Bay Harbor K-8 Center Broadcasting Club.

image The Holocaust Memorial Committee will sponsor a free film, The Last Survivor, at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, at the Byron Carlyle Theatre, 500 71st St., Miami Beach.

The film, the winner of the Jackson Film Festival, presents four genocide survivors, people who lived through the Holocaust and massacres in Congo, Rwanda and Darfur. Filmmaker Michael Pertnoy will lead a discussion after the film.
