Why wait ‘til the weekend to get your famers market fix? The city of North Miami holds its market on Thursdays through June, from 11 a.m to 5 p.m.
Offerings include a lunch special and Florida grass fed beef in addition to the usual baked goods, honey, fresh produce, plants and more. It happens on the MOCA Plaza, 770 NE 125 St., through March.
One of the nation’s largest street festivals takes place on Sunday, March 11, starting at 11 a.m. It features live music of many kinds, dancing, food, children’s activities and more. Find a guide from Miami New Times here. It happens along Calle Ocho – SW Eighth Street – from 11th to 27th avenues.
It happens at Fountain Plaza at the Shops at Midtown, 3401 N. Miami Ave.
Families are invited to the Design District for an afternoon of fun on Saturday, Sept. 24, from noon to 4 p.m. Among the highlights are the Addams Family Activities, including mask-making and a scavenger hunt. It happens in various locations around the district, which is bounded by NE 38 and 41 streets, NE Second and Miami avenues.
The 13th annual Gifford Lane Art Stroll happens on Sunday, Mar. 6, from noon to 5 p.m. In addition to art, there will be live music and family activities, all taking place in a single block between Oak and Day avenues on Gifford Lane, Coconut Grove.
The fourth annual MiMo Madness festival takes place Saturday, Mar. 5, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Billed as “a neo-Vaudeville extravaganza,” it features street theater, children’s activities, arts, crafts, jewelry, food and more. It happens on Biscayne Boulevard between 66th and 72nd streets.
The Patricia & Phillip Frost Museum at Florida International University invites families on Saturday, Oct. 30.
Admission is free from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be mask making, face painting, games, snacks and more.
