booksandbooksAs we looked this week in amazement at the news that Miami ranked Number 6 in the Most Well-Read Cities in America, we were reminded of how lucky we are in Miami when it comes to free literary resources.

We write often about free author readings, free entertainment and free children’s events at our favorite independent bookstore, Books & Books, but we realized we have never written a post pointing out all the free resources Books & Books provides for South Florida. Few cities have the wealth of free literary resources we find at our favorite bookstore.

So here you are:

  • Books & Books provides free literary events featuring authors nearly every night at its store in Coral Gables and frequently at the stores in Miami Beach and Bal Harbour Shops.
  • Books & Books has free live music in the courtyard of the Coral Gables shop starting at 7 p.m. every Friday and Saturday.
  • Books & Books has free story times for children followed by craft activities at 10 a.m. every Saturday in Coral Gables and at 12:30 p.m. every Sunday at Bal Harbour Shops.

You can find a complete schedule of upcoming free literary events here.
