On Saturday, March 31, from 2 to 6 p.m., the Allapattah Music and Literacy Center celebrates its grand opening with a block party. There will be live music, a DJ, bounce houses, face painting and more, including free asthma screenings. It happens at 3321 NW 17 Ave.
The YMCA of Greater Miami is celebrating a YMCA Healthy Kids Day from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 17 at three Miami-Dade branches.

The Miami-Dade County Health Department is offering free H1N1 influenza vaccines at the YMCA Village of Allapattah Family Branch from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 6.

The YMCA of Greater Miami is waiving the joining fee for people who want to become members of the new Village of Allapattah YMCA Family Branch, a savings of up to $80.
The deal is good through Dec. 15. The branch is at 2370 NW 17th Avenue in Miami and will offer wellness, family and social programs, including exercises, afterschool programs, senior programs and community events.
