Richard Blanco: Inaugural poet free homecoming event at Arsht Center

Adrienne Arsht Center’s Knight Concert Hall is welcoming back home inaugural poet, Richard Blanco, with a free community event on Friday, Feb. 22 at 7:30 p.m. Blanco will participate in an Actor’s Studio-like Q&A and read from his works.

The evening will feature a bilingual reading of selected works, including his poem selected for the Presidential Inauguration at the U.S. Capitol last month; an on-stage interview conducted by a high-profile special guest (to be named); and an open format Q&A session with the community. The event will conclude with a book signing organized by Book & Books in the lobby.

To reserve a seat, you have to register to get a pass on the Arsht website. Theses events tend to sell-out quickly but patrons can usually get in with the stand-by line.  The stand-by-line opens 6:30 p.m. outside the theater. Patrons in the tand-by line will be let into the theater at 7:15 p.m. if seats are still available.

The Adrienne Arsht Center, Knight Concert Hall, is located at 1300 Biscayne Blvd., Miami, 33132.
