The Miami Jazz Society film series will screen two free films on Wednesday, Feb. 20. Note that the screenings will be held on Wednesday and not their usual Tuesday date. Reception with snacks and cash bar are is held at 5 p.m. the first film begins at 6:15 p.m. The second film begins at 8 p.m.
The Goodbye Girl (1977) – After being dumped by her live-in boyfriend, an unemployed dancer and her 10-year-old daughter are reluctantly forced to live with a struggling off-Broadway actor. (Starring Richard Dreyfuss)
Claudine (1974) – Claudine tries to provide for her six children in Harlem while on welfare. She has a romance with Roop, a cheerful garbage collector she meets while working on the side as a maid. (Starring Diahann Carroll and James Earl Jones)
