You don’t have to be gay to have a gay old time during this week’s Gay Pride festival in Miami Beach.
The event includes a number of free events, including the Miami Beach Gay Pride Parade, a street festival and a free concert by Adam Lambert. Check out Steve Rothaus’ Gay South Florida for details on some of the free events. Here are the highlights:
- Gay pride parade. Miami Beach Mayor Matti Herrera Bower is the grand marhshal. The parade will go along Ocean Drive from Fifth to 12th Street between noon and 1 p.m.
- Free street festival. The street festival includes vendors, musical performances, food, a business expo and a family-friendly play area between noon and 6 p.m. on Ocean Drive between 12th and 14th streets. The music will go later.
- Free Adam Lambert concert. The singer discovered on “American Idol” will perform at 8 p.m. at the main stage on Ocean Drive between 11th and 12th streets.
