A series of exercise classes might seem odd at the South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center, a venue that primarily hosts dance, music and theater performances but that’s just what they’re hosting from Tuesday, Jan. 7, to Saturday, Jan. 11, at 10950 SW 211 St. in Cutler Bay.
The five-day evening series of classes are at 7 p.m. each night except for Saturday when the class is at 10 a.m.
On Tuesday Marlon Bailey of Precision Personal Training teaches how to use one’s own body weight to work out. Wednesday yoga lovers should bring their own mat to take part in Thomas Taulbee’s class. Thursday Renee O’Connor teaches The Art of Exotic Dancing for Everyday Women, open to women 18 years and older. Friday it’s Zumba with Fabi Mathelier and the week wraps up with a Salsa Dancing lesson on Saturday.
Attendees have the chance to win gym memberships and several other prizes at the drawing following Saturday’s classes and winners must be present to claim their prize.
RSVP is required for each class. Call 786-573-5300 or via the website at smdac.org.
