Free show by Chinese performing artists

Show pic-1Not often can you catch a world-renowned Asian performing arts troupe for free but Miami-Dade College is giving cultural aficionados three chances with shows Thursday, May 8, and Friday, May 9, at three different campuses.

The 25-member troupe — Northwest Normal University Performing Art Troupe — performs “Magic & Splendor from a Silk Road,”  a colorful, energetic variety show that showcases the multicultural traditions of China’s northwest region, through dancing, singing, instrumental music, drama and martial arts.

Showtimes and locations are:

  • Thursday, May 8, at 11 a.m. at Wolfson Campus, 300 NE 2 Ave., Bldg. 1, Auditorium, Room 1261
  • Friday, May 9, at 1 p.m. at Kendall Campus, 11011 SW 104 St., Bldg. G, Gymnasium, Room 110
  • Friday, May 9, at 7 p.m. at North Campus, 11380 NW 27 Ave., Bldg. 5, Lehman Theater.
