A hip hop oratorio about coming of age in the age of guns will be performed free at 7 p.m. Friday, April 21, at the Lehman Theater of Miami Dade College’s North Campus.
The musical “Trigger” looks at the 2007 Virginia Tech shooting, where 32 people were killed on campus, and the issue of gun violence in America using theater, dance and music. MDC Live Arts has taken the work by Byron Au Yong and Aaron Jafferis and added locally written songs and dialogue to make the production hit home in Miami.
The event will include a town-hall discussion among performances, audience members and law enforcement.
Admission is free but you can RSVP here.
The performance will be at the Lehman Theater of the MDC North Campus, 1380 NW 27th Ave, Bldg 5, Miami.
