Free musical performance and ‘Grease’ singalong at MDC

grease-sing-a-longThe Miami International Festival of the Arts at Miami Dade College’s North Campus offers a chance to see several free performances. The event, which runs through April 18, also includes art installations and a technology “petting zoo” where you can try out the latest gadgets.

Among the free offerings are two musical events:

  • 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 17: Cinema al Fresco: The Film Scores of James Horner. The outdoor celebration will feature the North Campus Film Scoring Orchestra and the Chamber Singers performing works from the musical scores of James Horner, including music from Avatar, Apollo 13, Glory, Troy, Star Trek, Titanic and Braveheart. This event is outdoors at the Science Complex Plaza.
  • 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 18: Grease Sing-A-Long. Join the North Campus Pen Players and the Chamber singers in singing along to the score of the popular film “Grease,” starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton John. The events is at the Lehman Theatre.
