wolfson-latin-jazz-big-bandChino Nunez, master percussionist, composer and producer, will perform in a free concert with the Wolfson Latin Jazz Big Band on Monday, July 15, in Kendall.

Pablo Chino Nunez is a Grammy, Latin Grammy and Billboard winner, who has worked with Tito Puente, Hector Lavoe, Celia Cruz, Johnny Pacheco, Marc Anthony, El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, Ray Barretto, Willie Colon, Ruben Blades, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Larry Harlow, Tito Nieves, the Spanish Harlem Orchestra and others.

Also playing will be South Florida jazz saxophonist and Miami Dade College faculty member Tom McCormick and vocalist Javier Merino, who has recorded with Emilio Estefan, Rey Ruiz and Miles Pena.

The Wolfson Latin Jazz Big Band, directed by Peter Francis, is an 18-piece professional group operating out of the Wolfson Campus of Miami Dade College. Its members have performed with everyone from Celia Cruz to the Miami Sound Machine and K.C. and the Sunshine Band.
The performance, presented by the MDC Kendall Campus Department of Music, Theater and Dance, will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday, July 15, at the McCarthy Auditorium, Room 6120, at the MDC Kendall Campus, 11011 SW 104th St, Miami FL 33176.
