Free Florida-friendly gardening workshop

garden9The Miami-Dade County Cooperative Extension Florida Yards & Neighborhoods program will host a free “Easy and Colorful Florida Friendly Plant” class on Saturday, July 13, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Golden Glades Library Branch located at 100 NE 166 St, Miami, FL 33162.

County Extension Agent Guillermo Salazar of the county’s Florida Yards & Neighborhood Program will talk about the best plant choices for South Florida gardening, the easiest and most colorful plant types for South Florida and how to implement Florida Friendly Landscape techniques.

Free plants will be available.

Participants can also exchange old showerheads and light bulbs for more efficient ones.
