The Town of Surfside invites Miamians to a series of four events, which will be held every first Friday of the month from May until August. The events are free and open to the public.
The schedule is:
- May 5: Moroccan Beach Picnic (more info below)
- June 2: Caribbean-themed picnic with a Bahamian junkanoo band
- July 7: Americana-style picnic with s’mores, American folklore storyteller, haystack maze on the beach and more
- Aug. 4: Bollywood with Indian food, henna tattoos, and Bollywood dancers
Pack a picnic basket for a laid-back Moroccan Beach Picnic to kick-off the town’s monthly First Fridays event on May 5. This casual soiree takes place on Surfside’s pristine beach and is a great way to experience the area like a local. Enjoy live Middle Eastern music, belly dancers, drum circle and tipi village for kids, cold-pressed juices, coconut water courtesy of Harmless Harvest, and healthy snacks. For a hint of beach side couture, luxury women’s fashion boutique Le Beau Moroc plans to showcase new seasonal Moroccan designs during a fashion show on the sand. Guests can take refuge from the sun under ornately designed over-sized tents.
