The lush and colorful Pinecrest Gardens at 11000 Red Road is the site for the South Motors Fine Arts Festival on Saturday, Jan. 11, and Sunday, Jan. 12, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
Meander the 14 acres of native forested wetland, tropical hardwood hammock and native cypress slough hammock while viewing the work of 65 local, national and international artists chosen to display their pieces at the juried art show.
Walk among the gardens to view paintings, mixed-media, jewelry, sculpture, photography and wearable art.
Exhibitors will include Cuban artist Humberto Benitez, whose sensual scenes include silhouettes, musical instruments and island landscapes; Joan Drizin of Indiana, whose whimsical sculptures are made by welding, cutting and bending iron and also feature other recycled materials; and Miami native Phil Fung’s art, which spotlights world leaders, comic book characters and landscape.
Don’t miss the Little Sprout Zone and while there, grab some lunch from one of the many food vendors. Overflow parking will be at Palmetto Senior High, Palmetto Middle School and Pinecrest Elementary with free shuttle service to Pinecrest Gardens. For more information call 305-669-6990
