Free family event in Miami Gardens

Miami Gardens logoThe City of Miami Gardens is working to bring the community together at the Peace Rally & Community Resource Fair from 2 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18, at the Betty T. Ferguson Sports Complex, 3000 NW 199 St. This is the kick-off event of a number of Peace Rallies to happen in the city in 2014.

The My Life Matters campaign was founded on three principles: community-building events, reverence for life and mentorship.

Local radio deejays Big Lip Bandit from Power 96, Rick Party from HOT 105 and Lorenzo “Ice T” Thomas from 99 Jamz will make appearances. There’s also a flag football competition, food and giveaways from the My Life Matters campaign folks.
