Legendary South Florida chef Norman Van Aken comes to Books & Books at 265 Aragon Ave. in Coral Gables Friday, Dec. 6, to discuss and autograph his latest book No Experience Necessary: The Culinary Odyssey of Chef Norman Van Aken.
The evening kicks off at 7 p.m. with a free launch party and reception with guest chefs Allen Susser of the Cafe at Books & Books; Phil Bryant of Swine Southern Table & Bar; Jamie DeRosa of Tongue & Cheek and Chef Cesar Zapata of The Federal Miami, who will join forces and each prepare a recipe from the book and share samples in the courtyard.
Then at 8 p.m. Chef Van Aken takes the mike to discuss his book and 20 years of experience in the food industry along with an homage to Chef Charlie Trotter. There are surprise guest speakers lined up for this evening as well. Van Aken will conclude the evening with the book signing.
