Free blues performances at Gables Bluesfest

Music lovers should head over to the Coral Gables Bluesfest “Party on the Plaza” during the 20th Annual Coral Gables Bluesfest Thursday, April 19, through Sunday, April 22, on the Bierhaus Plaza in front of Fritz & Franz Bierhaus, 60 Merrick Way, Coral Gables.

Here's the schedule of performances:

Thursday, April 19

  • 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. (inside): The Pitbull of Blues Band

Friday, April 20

  • 5 to 7 p.m.: Darrell Raines & The Blues Revival Band
  • 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.: The Betty Fox Band
  • 9:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. (inside)Vince Johnson & The Plantation All Stars (from Memphis)
  • 11 p.m. to 2 a.m.: VIVA Band with Ted Vernon

Saturday, April 21

  • 1:30 to 3 p.m.: Smoking Section
  • 3:30 to 5 p.m.: Rockin’ Jake Band  with Steve Laudicina, Charles Gasper and Rich Conklin
  • 5:30 to 7 p.m.: Barry Cuda with Kenny Fradley and Mike
  • 7:30 to 9 p.m.: Reverend Raven and The Chain Smoking Altar Boys featuring Westside Andy
  • 9 to 11 p.m.: Dirty Red and The Soulshakers (from Oklahoma)
  • 11 p.m. to 2 a.m.: The Barry Cuda Trio

Sunday, April 22

  • 12:30 to 2 p.m.: Papa Joe with Motel Mel, George Caldwell
  • 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.: Joel Da Silva
  • 4:30 to 6 p.m.: Jack Bluni & The Miami Blues Allstars
  • 6:30 to 8 p.m.: Piano Bob’s 88s

Entrance to the event is free. Hours are 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. Thursday; 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. Friday; 1 p.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday; and noon to 8 p.m.  Sunday.

Self-parking is available at city parking garage 6, with an entrance at 51 Aragon Ave.
