The Wolfsonian-FIU will present a free artisanal fair, showcasing local food vendors and farmers, from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28.
The event is in conjunction with the final weekend of the exhibit Modern Meals: Remaking Foods from Farm to Kitchen. A special guided tour of the exhibit with local farmer Teena Borek will be at 2 pm.
Visitors can sample gourmet popcorn, chocolates, granola, cheese and other items and talks to the farmers and makers. They can also sign up to join a community-supported agriculture plan and get fresh produce every week. Items will be available for purchase.
Participating vendors include Cao Chocolates, Laurie’s Pantry, Pop Nature, Proper Sausages, The Cheesecake Gallery and Dauphin Kaffee, plus the CSAs TeenasprideCSA, Bee Heaven Farm and Little River Market Garden. The event is co-presented with Slow Food Miami and The Village Stand in Miami Shores.
