CULTRA brings a little more culture to downtown in the first-ever roving, outdoor open mic in Miami starting on Thursday, January 19, 2017.
A collaborative event series produced by Buskerfest Miami and Emerge Miami, CULTRA is an opportunity for local performers in all disciplines to showcase their skills for fellow Miamians in some of the most scenic public spaces Downtown Miami has to offer.
On the third-Thursday of each month, from January to May 2017, CULTRA will be held in one of the Downtown Miami parks in an effort to put the “public” back in public spaces and foster connections between attendees and the precious bayfront.
The event begins with ninety minutes of open stage time followed by a feature performance by a well-known local group. Each edition of CULTRA will be a collaboration with one of Miami’s other prominent, long-running open mics and include a guest host.
Artistic Vibes, who produces one of Miami’s longest-running weekly open mics, will host the inaugural CULTRA event on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Tina Hills Pavilion in Bayfront Park.
Future dates of CULTRA are February 16, March 16, April 20 and May 18.
CULTRA is made possible by a Public Space Challenge grant awarded by the Miami Foundation. 305-582-9542.
