The event, from 6:30 p.m to 8 p.m., also offers advice on running an existing small business, as well as information on how to get free advice from volunteer counselors at Score. Register here.

Participants must be at least 18 years old and will have to sign a waiver. Bring you own yoga mat, water, and towel.

Beginners, intermediate, and advanced welcome. Classes are taught by a certified yoga teacher. In the event of rain, classes take place in the Bayfront Park office.

The Adrienne Arsht Center offers a free tour every Monday and Saturday at noon. The tour lasts approximately one hour. No reservations are required.

Tours depart from the lobby of the Sanford and Dolores Ziff Ballet Opera House. You might even see some production happenings if the timing is right.

Highlights of the tour include:

  • Insider information about the Center’s architecture, history and stars such as Cirque du Soleil, Billy Crystal and Idina Menzel.
  • A walk through all the theaters, from lobbies to stage, including glimpses into private meeting rooms and lounges not open to the public.
  • Views of Biscayne Bay and the Miami skyline from the Center’s upper tiers and Biscayne Boulevard pedestrian bridge.

  • Free hands-on workshops designed for children ages 5 – 12 offered the first Saturday of every month at all The Home Depot stores between 9 a.m. and noon.
  • Workshops teach children do-it-yourself skills, tool safety and instill a sense of pride and accomplishment.
  • All kids get to keep their craft and receive a free kids workshop apron, commemorative pin and certificate of achievement.
  • Paint will be provided at the workshop for children to personalize their bird feeder craft.

One Saturday a month, from 9 a.m.-11 a.m. Miami Children’s Museum will turn into an environment designed specifically for children with special needs and their families during a special Sensory Saturday for children with disabilities.

On these Saturdays, the museum closes to the public to avoid large crowds, while providing modified lighting, sound adjustments and “cool down” rooms available for children to relax in.

Miami-Dade County residents can replace older-model toilets with High-Efficiency models.

Single-family residential property owners or tenants, as well as multi-family property owners, may receive a $50 rebate with the purchase and installation of a WaterSense-certified High-Efficiency toilet.

The residential property must have been built prior to 1996. To quality for the rebate, you must submit the appropriate application form, the original purchase receipt and packaging information from the manufacturer showing that the toilet is WaterSense-certified. For more information visit
