Bird-Road-Art-WalkThe Bird Road Art Walk is held the third Saturday of every month from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m.

Celebrate art, music, poetry and more during the Bird Road Art Walk.

Enjoy free parking and a free shuttle service  that loops continuously throughout the district stopping at each participating artists’ studio and gallery.  Start your Art Walk at any of the participating studios.

The City of Hialeah will host its free Hialeah Egg-Stravaganza on Saturday, April 19, at Goodlet Park located at 4200 West 8th Avenue from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The egg hunt features more than 50,000 eggs, live entertainment and food. There will be a kids’ zone, photos with the Easter Bunny, live entertainment, Magic Egg Hunt for adults with a grand prize and much more.

showimageCoral Gables will host its Eggstreme Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 19, at five parks.

Coral Gables will have its second annual helicopter egg drop. Thousands of colorful, plastic eggs will be dropped by helicopter onto the Youth Center field as children watch from the perimeter.

Simultaneous egg hunts will take place at 10 a.m. at five parks in Coral Gables, but the Youth Center is the only one featuring a helicopter egg drop.

Enjoy free concerts, and carnival games and ride after the egg hunts.

It also includes pie-eating contests, arts and crafts stations, animal encounters, bounce houses and Easter Bunny photos.

family-day-on-aragonFamily Day on Aragon is the second Saturday of the month in Coral Gables. That means discount movies at the Coral Gables Art Cinema in the mornings and free admission plus family arts and crafts at the  Coral Gables Museum in the afternoon.

The Coral Gables Cinema will screen the Oscar-nominated animated film “Ernest and Celestine,” at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12, and Sunday, April 13. Tickets are $6.50 for children under 12 and$7.50 for those 12 older, with free popcorn. The Coral Gables Cinema is at 260 Aragon Ave., Coral Gables, 33134.

The Coral Gables Museum will feature free arts and crafts and free admission from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Kids will learn about architecture and get a chance to build their own mosaic work as well as participate in a scavenger hunt. At 3  p.m. there will be a free concert by Coral Gables Music Club scholarship students.

new-world-symphony-wallcastYou can experience the New World Symphony performances larger than life in free outdoor Wallcast concerts. Miami Beach’s SoundScape features the latest in visual and audio technology on a 7,000-square-foot projection wall. Wallcast events are free to the public and do not require a ticket.

According to the New World Symphony Facebook page, patrons also can visit the NWS table outside the box office before the show to sign up to be seated inside if space is availabe.

Coral-Gables-Gallery-NightThe first Friday of the month is Coral Gables Gallery Night, free from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Virginia Miller and the Coral Gables Gallery Association feature a night where local galleries present their artwork to the public.

Take the free trolley to the different galleries or walk from gallery to gallery. Many of the galleries offer free wine.

Giralda Under the Stars is back for the last appearance of the season, so you can also indulge in al fresco dining or just stand around and listen to the music from the restaurants.

The free trolley travels along Ponce de Leon Boulevard, between Southwest Eighth Street and the Douglas Road Metro station. For more information, check out the city’s Gallery Night trolley route and listings.

Gold-Coast-Railroad-Museum

The Gold Coast Railroad Museum offers free admission the first Saturday of the month.

Tickets to ride a train range from $2.50 to $12 per ticket. Great for any train enthusiast, Thomas the Train lover or young kids. The food is reasonably priced (Frankie’s pizza food truck!) and there are plenty of trains to explore.

The museum houses 30 historic trains and features a number of displays that are interactive. Hours: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
